Super Charger Upgrades

Okay... for all you GTP owners that want to get a bit more power out of your Supercharger, this section is for you!

There are currently 2 main methods for making your Supercharger do a bit more work for you...

  1. Thrasher 3.5" Pulley
  2. Magnuson Nose Drive and Pulley

Thrasher Pulley

The Thrasher (TEP) pulley is a 3.5" pulley that replaces the stock 3.8" pulley. TEP has manufactured a special tool that enable the factory pulley to be removed and this new pulley to be put on. Currently the process must be performed by an employee of TEP. For more information on this, go to their web site.

So far, everyone that has had the pulley done by them has been very satisfied both with the product and the performance gains attained. The average price for this little upgrade? About $300 or so. The pulley itself is a brass color and has "TEP" stamped into it on the side. Estimated gains are 15-22 HP.

Magnuson Nose Drive & Pulley

The Magnuson nose drive is a complete assembly for your stock supercharger. Magnuson currently offers a 3.6" or 3.4" pulley for this nose drive. Once you order the nose drive you will have about a 3-4 hour project ahead of you in order to do this upgrade (unless of course you have a shop do it!). The unit comes with instructions and pictures on how to remove your supercharger and replace the nose drive with the new unit. Estimated gains are 12-30 HP (dependent on pulley size).

The advantage of the Magnuson? 1) The upgraded nose drive and pulley looks like a stock unit. 2) The new nose cone and pulley are "keyed" which means you can change pulley's as easy and as often as you like! The price for this upgrade? The nose drive and pulley will run you roughly $350 + a $100 core deposit. Once you do the swap, you will send back your factory nose drive and get your $100 deposit back.
