Hmm.. after my birthday we decided to install the rear sway bar from RAT(9/11/99).
Well.. I decided to help Herbie Gibbons out.. I installed mine a couple days before. The new bar is
considerably larger than stock. After installing it, I noticed a immediate improvement.
Cornering was a lot better with the rear wheels planted and body roll almost completely gone. The
real test came when I went to autocross the car... for the first time.. I experienced some oversteer.
I did a couple 'opposite locks' which definitly would not be possible without the bar. Below are some pics
from the install day.
Eric's Zaino shine - that's Eric hurriedly mowing
his lawn before the meet.
Car show at Eric's - We had lots of turned heads driving up and down the road!
Herb's sweet looking green F1 GTP.
Unhooking the Borla hangers.
Eric getting the old sway bar loosened.
RAT vs stock - a huge difference. The stock piece can actually be bent by hand!
Boring out the mounting holes.
Eric working the bar into place.
Herb lends a hand to get the bar around the exhaust pipe.
Pretty trick looking! Too bad nobody will see it unless you flip your car Herb!
Then Eric reworked on his install. Silly man didn't grease up the bushings
when he installed it days before! "Why is it making all that noise?!?"
