Grand Prix Gathering '99
Page1
I must say that GPG99 was an awesome event. Before I go any further, a shout out of thanks to Tony Lauer for all his hard work in coordinating this event and to all those who helped make it smooth and successful.

I drove out from the Washington DC area, which is almost 1200 miles away! I drove half way across the country!!!! After having my front bumper completely covered with bugs and 2 days of driving with 2 local GP guys.. we arrived!

It was nice to meet everyone out there... we got to see the GP Convertible(pics below), as well as the Supercharged Grand Am. We saw photos of the 2003 prototypes, and the history of our cars!! We got to do a plant tour and see how our cars go from a roll of metal into what we drive today!

The track was neat too! We had 84 cars drive to Kansas City International Raceway! A few of us lucky ones got into the 13's, but most GTPs stayed in the 14's.

I also went to the 'ballet' with group of great guys... but unfortunatly cameras were not permitted in this establishment ;) It was fun trying to find our way back to the hotel... we probably drove through all of KC... hehe.

Well.. I dont want to say too much... but it was nice meeting everyone out there... I had a lot of fun... hearing about dissapearing cones... cops pulling over a huge convoy of Grand Prix's.. ok here you all go.. PICTURES!
